Lawmaker awards scholarship to Nasarawa varsity students

A member representing Doma South Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, MrJames Dangana, has disbursed N500, 000 to 100 students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi of his constituency.
Dangana (APC), while disbursing the scholarship to the students in Lafia on Thursday,in Lafia, said that the gesture was to assist them reduce the burden of education and boost standard of education.
Dangana, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Education was represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Abdullahi Atama.
He urged the students to be hard working in order to excel in their academic pursuits.
According to him, education is the best legacy parents and government should leave for the citizenry, hence the gesture
“I deem it necessary to assist the students of the state university of my constituency, no matter how little it is, it will improve on their standard of living.
“I have initiated many good policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the electorate in my constituency.
“I appeal to the students to take their studies with all seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuits.
“When they do that, they will go a long way to justify their parent’s and government huge investment in their education,” he said.
Dangana restated his commitment to continue to key into good policies and programmes that had direct bearing on the lives of the people of his constituency.
The law maker solicited for support of his constituents to enable him succeed and for them to remain peaceful.
He called on them to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov.Umaru Almakura-led administration to enable them succeed.
Responding, Jamila Ogabo, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and promised to be serious in their academic pursuits.
